Wake Forest Travels West to Fullerton Classic
Wake Forest heads out on the road for the first time this season, taking on William & Mary, Gardner-Webb and Cal State Fullerton in Fullerton, Calif.
The Demon Deacons open with Gardner-Webb on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. EST with matches against William & Mary and host Cal State Fullerton on Saturday.

Last Time Out
Wake Forest started the season out in impressive fashion by sweeping the Deacon Invitational and shot out to a 3-0 start for the first time since 2008.
The Deacs defeated East Carolina in the season opener before beating ETSU, an NCAA tournament team last year, 3-1. Wake Forest wrapped up the weekend by taking down UNCG 3-0.
Wake Forest Storylines
Head coach Ken Murczek is undefeated so far at Wake Forest, taking a 3-0 record out west to California.
The Deacs are making their first trip to California since the 2000 season when Wake Forest played in the UC Irvine Thanksgiving tournament.
All four newcomers saw action in the opening weekend of play. Matalee Reed and Sophia Dodd started each match while Maggie Sinkler and Hanna Lee each saw playing time.
Kristin Grissom was named the MVP of the Deacon Invitational and led the way with 33 kills in three matches.
The Deacs limited the opposition to a .134 hitting percentage during the opening weekend of play.
The Opposition & Series History
Wake Forest is facing William & Mary for the first time since 2003 and holds a 4-3 advantage over the Tribe. William & Mary went 1-2 last weekened with a win over San Jose State.
The Deacs also haven't faced Gardner-Webb since 2003 and has a 2-0 record all-time against the Bulldogs.
It will be the first meeting between Wake Forest and Cal State Fullerton. The Titans took down Portland on Saturday but are 2-1 this season.
Next Up...
Wake Forest will travel west again, this time to Kansas City, Mo. for the Kangaroo Klassic hosted by UMKC.
The Deacs will play Eastern Illinois, Presbyterian and UMKC.
