Wake Forest will welcome in longtime rival NC State as the Demon Deacons host the Wolfpack in a late Wednesday night meeting.
Tip-off is scheduled for 9 p.m. at the LJVM Coliseum. The game will be broadcast on the ACC Network and online on ESPN3 and theACC.com. It can also be heard on the Wake Forest IMG Sports Network.
Last Time Out
Wake Forest is coming off an 80-65 loss at Pittsburgh on Saturday. The Panthers ended the first half on a 12-4 run to gain separation from the Deacons in the teams' first-ever meeting.
Devin Thomas finished just shy of a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. The sophomore went 8-for-11 from the field and also added a block. Of his nine total rebounds, five came on the offensive end.
Codi Miller-McIntyre and Coron Williams joined Thomas in double figures with 10 points apiece. Miller-McIntyre led the team with four assists, and Madison Jones had three.
Tyler Cavanaugh turned in seven points and five rebounds, while Arnaud William Adala Moto scored seven for the Deacons.
The game was the Deacons' fifth all-time trip to the Steel City and the first since the 1971 Steel Bowl tournament.
Wake Forest Storylines
Wake Forest has won 11 straight games at the Joel Coliseum, dating back to last year's season finale. It marks the Deacs' longest home winning streak since winning 16 straight at the Joel between 2007 and 2008.
Wake Forest is in the middle of a stretch that sees it play four of five games on the road. The Deacons fell at Virginia and at Pittsburgh last week and will play at Clemson and at Virginia Tech coming up.
Senior Travis McKie is seven points away from 1,500 for his career. The leading active career scorer in the ACC, McKie would be the 20th Deacon to reach the mark.
Coron Williams has played 66 minutes over three conference games and has yet to commit a turnover. He has just four turnovers in 385 minutes on the season.
The Deacons are back to balancing basketball and academics after beginning spring semester classes on Tuesday.
Series History
NC State leads the all-time series with Wake Forest, 137-100. In its 238th all-time meeting, the series is the second-most frequent matchup in the ACC.
Wake Forest is 18-6 against NC State at the Joel Coliseum, including an 86-84 win over the Wolfpack last season. The Deacons have taken six of the last nine at the venue.
Wake Forest and NC State have played at least twice a season every year since 1915-16.

Wake Forest will hit the road again for back-to-back games beginning this weekend when Wake Forest plays at Clemson on Saturday, Jan. 18, and at Virginia Tech on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
The Deacons will return to the Joel Coliseum on Saturday, Jan. 25, to host Notre Dame in the teams' first-ever conference matchup.
