Three Deacs Reach Round of 32 at ITA Carolina Regional

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - A trio of Demon Deacons each won twice on the opening day of the ITA Carolina Regional hosted by Duke and NC State on Thursday.
Jon Ho, Christian Seraphim and Skander Mansouri all advanced into Friday's round of 32 with a pair of Thursday victories.
Ho, seeded 14th, notched two straight-sets wins over Kert Kiluments of NC Central, 6-3, 6-4, and Jordan Kaufman of Elon, 6-4, 6-4.
After sweeping Winthrop's JD O'Brien 6-0, 6-0 in the opening round, Seraphim earned another straight-sets win over Thomas Mayronne of South Carolina, 6-3, 6-4.
Mansouri needed a third-set tiebreak win to escape the first round, edging Furman's Luke Synn, 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (4). His second round victory came more easily, as he topped Davidson's Artem Khrapko, 6-2, 6-4.
In the round of 32, Ho takes on Duke's TJ Pura, Seraphim plays UNC Wilmington's Zach Hublitz, and Mansouri also takes on a UNCW foe in Christian Van Der Burgh.
Anthony Delcore earned a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Charlotte's Jack Williams, before being taken down by No. 7-ranked and top-seeded Brayden Schnur of UNC, 6-2, 6-2.
After suffering first-round losses, Sam Bloom, Nicky Kunz and Matt Erdman each bounced back with wins in the consolation round.
Action continues tomorrow with the third round of singles play and the first two rounds of doubles.
