ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Wake Forest carded a final round 2-under 286 on Sunday to capture fourth place at the U.S. Collegiate Championship at The Golf Club of Georgia Lakeside Course.

In eighth place after an even round 288 on Friday, the Demon Deacons played the final two rounds in 6-under par.

Texas won the tournament with a 21-under 277 on Sunday, edging Virginia by a stroke. LSU was third at 7-under 857. Wake Forest finished one stroke out of third at 858.

Virginia's Derek Bard claimed medalist honors with a sizzling 8-under 64 on Sunday. He finished at 15-under to edge teammate Denny McCarthy by six strokes.

Wake Forest was led by Paul McBride who finished tied for 17th after a final round 2-over 214. McBride finished at 2-under 214 for the tournament.

Will Zalatoris tied for 19th at 1-under 215 after a final round 70 on Sunday. Cy Stewart finished tied for 25th at 1-over 217. He had Wake Forest's best round on Sunday at 5-under 67.

Davis Womble and Danny Guise each tied for 50th at 5-over 221. Womble fired a 5-over 77 on Sunday while Guise was at 3-over 75.

The U.S. Collegiate Championship concludes the fall season for the Deacons. They will return to action on March 1 in Cabo, Mexico.
