GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wake Forest women's soccer senior Kim Marshall was named the ACC Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday morning.
She becomes the first Demon Deacon to receive the honor since Katie Stengel did so twice in 2011.
Marshall, playing her first-ever game as an attacking midfielder, scored her first career game-winner as Wake Forest upset No. 10-ranked Virginia Tech on the road (Oct. 18), 1-0.
The California native took a game-high five shots, including all four of the Deacons' shots on goal.
Virginia Tech, the fifth-highest scoring offense in the nation, was limited to just 11 shots and shut out for only the second time all season.
Marshall and the Deacs are back in action on Thursday, playing host to Boston College at 7 p.m.
