GREENSBORO, N.C. - Freshman outside hitter Kylie Long of the Wake Forest volleyball team was named the Freshman of the Week as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Monday evening.
Long had a strong weekend for the Demon Deacons as she posted two double-digit kill performances, including a double-double, in two ACC victories over Notre Dame and Louisville this weekend.
The Plano, Texas, native recorded a double-double in a 3-2 victory over Notre Dame with 13 kills and 15 digs. Long recorded her first back-to-back double-digit kill performance of her career with 16 kills against Louisville while hitting .500 for the match. Long opened the match with 10 kills in the first set to help establish the pace early.
In her first season as a Demon Deacon, Long is currently third on the team in points and kills with 248 and 205 respectively, and she is second on the team in digs with 208 this season.
Wake Forest hits the road for its final four matches of the season. This weekend they take on Virginia Tech on Friday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. in Blacksburg, Va.
