WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Anna Kozniuk was named the 2014 South Region Player of the Year as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association on Tuesday morning.
Kozniuk, a senior from North Vancouver, Canada, tallied 16 goals and six assists this season for a total of 38 points, which is a career-high. Yesterday she earned her fourth-career All-South Region First Team honor from the NFHCA.
Kozniuk was named the ACC Offensive Player of the Year as the Demon Deacons won their fourth ACC title in program history. Her two goals and two assists during the championships earned her tournament MVP honors.
A preseason All-ACC honoree, Kozniuk was named to the All-ACC First Team for the fourth straight season. She is the first Wake Forest field hockey player to receive the honor four times and the 12th player in the 32-year history of ACC field hockey to be a four-time honoree. She is now the 40th Wake Forest student-athlete to earn the first team honor four times.
Kozniuk was also selected to be a participant in the NFHCA Division I Senior Game on Nov. 22 that will be played in College Park, Md.
