No. 11-ranked Wake Forest faces off against No. 6 Syracuse on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Durham, N.C. in the ACC Field Hockey Championship match.
Last Time Out >>
Wake Forest first defeated Louisville 2-1 in the quarterfinals on Thursday to open the tournament. Anna Kozniuk scored the opener at the 48:07 mark and Karlee Spirit scored her first-career goal at 61:58 to advance the Deacs.
The Demon Deacons advanced the the championship match with a 2-1 victory over the top-seed Virginia. Jess Newak redirected a shot for the opener and Kozniuk scored the game winner with just over six minutes remaining.
ACC Championship History >>
This is Wake Forest's ninth appearance in the ACC Field Hockey Championship match. The team's last appearance was in 2008.
The Demon Deacons have won three ACC Titles (2002, 2003, 2006).
The last ACC Championship for the Deacs was a 1-0 victory over Maryland on Nov. 5, 2006.

The Demon Deacons are No. 9 in the RPI and are the No. 4 seed in the ACC Championships.
Wake Forest had three players selected to the 2014 All-ACC Team. Kozniuk (4th selection), Christine Conroe (2nd selection), and Georgia Holland (1st selection).
Kozniuk and Georgia Holland were named to the Preseason All-ACC team.

This will be the fifth meeting between the two sides as the Orange with the all-time series tied a 2-2 after a matchup earlier this season.
The Demon Deacons defeated Syracuse 4-2 on Senior Day, Oct. 18. Madi Julis scored the opening goal, Krysta Wangerin notched one before halftime, and Sarah Thornhill scored twice in the second half to secure the win.
Wake Forest won the first-ever meeting 3-2 in overtime in the 2008 NCAA Tournament semifinals on Nov. 21, 2008.
