WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest freshman Ally Haran has ventured north this week, taking part in Canada's Women's U-20 training camp in Vaughan, Ontario, just outside of Toronto.
Haran is competing in a national team camp for the first time.
"It's an awesome opportunity to be chosen to go to this camp," Haran said. "I'm super excited to see how I can compete and how I compare to other players. It's just a blessing to be given this opportunity and it'll be great to see what it's all about."
Haran was born in Stratford, Ontario - about halfway between Toronto and Detroit - before moving to the United States at an early age.
After missing the first eight games of the 2014 season, Haran stepped in as a starting center back. She recorded a goal and an assist in nine games, helping anchor Wake Forest's back line as a freshman.
