WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Alex Emery comes to Wake Forest for the 2014-15 season as the volunteer assistant coach after spending last year in the same role at Drake.
"Alex will be an excellent addition to our staff this year," head coach Tony Bresky said. "He is a very motivated and energetic young coach and will look to build off his experience at Drake last season. We are fortunate to have him joining us."
In his lone year with the Bulldogs, Emery helped Drake to Missouri Valley regular season and tournament titles. Drake was ranked as high as No. 30 in the nation, sweeping both Illinois State and Wichita State to win the conference tournament crown.
While at Drake, Emery also helped a trio of Bulldogs reach the NCAA Men's Tennis Championship, as one singles player and another doubles pairing competed at the national competition at the University of Georgia.
A four-year letterwinner at UAB, Emery was ranked in the top 30 in doubles his junior and senior seasons, and led the Conference USA with 31 singles victories his freshman campaign.
He graduated from UAB in 2011 with a degree in psychology.
