Wake Forest Hosts Deacon Classic >>
• Wake Forest hosts Elon, Western Carolina, and Winthrop in the Deacon Classic this weekend.
• The Demon Deacons play one match on Friday, facing Winthrop at 7 p.m., and two matches on Saturday against Western Carolina at 1 p.m. and Elon at 7 p.m.

• Wake Forest fell to Oklahoma in straight sets 3-0 on Thursday night in Reynolds Gym. Brianna Lynch had a team-high 10 kills in the match.
• It was only the third time the Sooners and Deacs faced each other, and the second time in Reynolds Gym.
• Elon defeated North Carolina A&T 3-0 on Wednesday, the Catamounts beat UNC Asheville 3-0 on Tuesday, and the Winthrop also won 3-0 on Tuesday against Davidson.

• Jazmen Russell, Ashlee Rusk, Caroline Wolf, and Matalee Reed have all earned All-Tournament Team honors this season.
• Russell was named Houston Tournament MVP and Wolf named MVP of the Deacon Invitational.
• Russell leads the ACC with 164 kills this season.
• Early in the season, three Deacs rank in the top-five in the ACC for three categories. Russell is first in kills per set (4.31), Wolf ranks fourth in digs per set (4.15), and Danae Rosendall is fifth is assists per set (9.87).
• The Deacs return 10 players from last year's squad, including six starters.

• Wake Forest holds series leads over Elon (16-7-1) with the Deacs winning 3-0 in the last matchup Nov. 7, 2001.
• The Demon Deacons hold a slight 10-9 edge against Western Carolina, winning the last matchup with the Catamounts 3-0 on Sept. 4, 1999.
• Winthrop is currently winning the all-time series against the Deacs 10-8, but Wake Forest has won the last two matchups, most recently 3-0 on Sept. 1, 2012.
