CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Four different Cavaliers scored as No. 2 Virginia defeated Wake Forest women's soccer 5-0 at Klöckner Stadium on Thursday night.
Virginia (10-0-0, 2-0-0 ACC), the seventh-highest scoring offense in the nation, scored twice in the first half and three times in the second half to remain unbeaten and untied.
Wake Forest (3-5-1, 1-1-0 ACC) was out-shot 27-6, and was unable to get a shot on goal.
Meghan Cox scored first for UVa in the 12th minute off a corner kick, before the reigning MAC Hermann Trophy winner Morgan Brian scored back-to-back goals in the 28th and 65th minutes to make it 3-0.
Brian added an assist in the 69th minute, when her cross set up Morgan Reuther for a one-timer which made it 4-0.
A failed Wake Forest clearance on a corner kick allowed Emily Sonnett to score from 10 yards out, making it 5-0.
Lindsay Preston made six saves in goal for Wake Forest.
BY THE NUMBERS
8: After starting all three exhibition contests, true freshman Ally Haran came off the bench to make her first appearance for Wake Forest. She missed the first eight regular season games due to injury.
684: Jenai Davidson made her first appearance in 684 days. The last game she played was against Georgia Southern in the 2012 NCAA Tournament, November 10, 2012. She missed all of last season with a knee injury.
GOALS AGAINST EVERYONE, EXCEPT...
Against teams not named Virginia, Wake Forest has scored at least one goal in 17 straight games. UVa has now shut out Wake Forest three times in that span. The Cavaliers beat the Deacs twice a year ago, each time by a 2-0 score.

Wake Forest returns home on Sunday at 1 p.m., welcoming No. 16 Notre Dame to Spry Stadium to continue ACC play.
