SKILLMAN, N.J. - A trio of Demon Deacons were recognized in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association preseason individual rankings, the organization announced on Monday.
In singles, junior Romain Bogaerts will enter the fall with a No. 20 ranking. The All-ACC first teamer was ranked as high as No. 5 a year ago, finishing the season at No. 33. He posted 26 singles victories last year. His No. 20 ranking is the fourth-highest in the ACC.
Additionally, sophomore Maksim Kan checks into the singles rankings at No. 69. In his rookie campaign, he earned 25 singles victories and rose as high as No. 56 in the singles rankings.
The doubles pairing of Bogaerts and Kan is ranked 49th. Last year the duo went 14-8 as a team, including two wins against ranked opponents.
Freshman Noah Rubin is slotted as the top newcomer in NCAA Division I, according to the ITA. He's one of four ACC representatives in the top 10 of the newcomer/freshman rankings. Over the summer, Rubin won Wimbledon juniors and the USTA Boys National Championship, also competing in the US Open and Winston-Salem Open main draws.
