The Match-Up
• Wake Forest continues its toughest stretch of the season, with five top-10 opponents in a six-game span. No. 3 Virginia is the fourth top-six foe in that span, set for Sunday at 1 p.m.
• The Demon Deacons then close the stretch of ranked foes on Friday, traveling to top-10 Notre Dame.
Last Time Out
• All the scoring came in the first 25 minutes, with No. 5 Virginia Tech scoring three times to earn an eventual 3-1 victory.
• Peyton Perea scored her first-career goal at the 24:07 mark to cut the deficit to 2-1. Kahla Seymour picked up her team-leading fourth assist on the play, while Katie Dry recorded the first of her career. However, the Hokies answered back with another score just 23 seconds later, the second of the game from Murielle Tiernan.
Scouting The Opponent
• Virginia enters with a 9-1-1 record, including 3-1 in ACC action. The Cavaliers have played just three road games, holding a 2-0-1 mark.
• The Cavaliers are coming off a 2-0 victory at top-five foe Clemson on Thursday.
• Virginia has dominated its foes this year, out-scoring them 35-6. The well-balanced offensive attack features eight players with at least three goals, led by Morgan Reuther (7g, 1a, 15 pts) and Alexis Shaffer (5g, 5a, 15 pts).
• Jessie Ferrari (6-0-0, 0.50 GAA, .600 save pct) and Morgan Stearns (3-1-1, 0.54 GAA, .810 save pct) have split time in goal, combining for seven shutouts.
Series History
• Virginia leads the all-time series, 16-7-3. The Cavaliers have been ranked either first or second at the time of each of the last three meetings, out-scoring the Demon Deacons 9-0 during their three-game winning streak.
• Wake Forest has defeated a ranked Virginia Team six times, and has a 1-1 record against the Cavaliers when they are ranked No. 3 nationally.
• Since 1999, neither team has had a winning streak of more than three games in the series. UVA won the first five from 1994-98.
Fountain of Youth
• Wake Forest had an extremely young team a year ago, starting at least seven underclassmen and at least four freshmen in every game.
• That hasn't changed in 2015. At least eight underclassmen have started in every game, with three or more freshmen starting in every game but one.
• Eight different freshmen have started at least one game this season.
• Wake Forest has not started more than one senior in any game this season; in seven games, there have been zero senior starters.
