GREENSBORO, N.C. – Wake Forest safety Zach Dancel and punter Alexander Kinal have each received Player of the Week honors from the Atlantic Coast Conference following Saturday's 3-0 win over Boston College.

Dancel was named the Defensive Back of the Week, while Kinal earned Specialist of the Week recognition.

Dancel, a 6-0, 200-pound graduate transfer safety from Ellicott City, Maryland (U of Maryland) had six tackles including five solos in Wake Forest's win over Boston College. Dancel had a tackle for loss of four yards, forced a fumble that led to Wake Forest's field goal, and also recovered a fumble late in the fourth quarter.

Kinal, a 6-4, 205-pound redshirt senior from Adelaide, South Australia (St. Peter's) punted 10 times for 513 yards, a 51.3 average, against Boston College on Saturday. His ability to flip the field on numerous occasions was critical to Wake Forest's win. Nine of his punts came from Wake Forest territory and eight of them resulted in BC starting in its own end.

Kinal had eight punts of 50 or more yards including a 62-yarder. Four of his punts were inside the 20 and two punts finished inside the 10.

On Boston College's drives following a Kinal punt, the Eagles punted the ball back six times, missed two field goals, and lost two fumbles, one of those leading to Wake Forest's game-winning field goal.

During the game, Kinal set the ACC record for career punting yards. He now has 12,383 career yards, exceeding the previous record of 12,000 set by Duke's Brian Morton (1997-2000).
