Deacons to Face Road Tests at Louisville, Notre Dame

Wake Forest Takes on Louisville, Notre Dame
• Looking to snap a four-match losing skid, Wake Forest will travel to No. 25 Louisville and Notre Dame this week. The Demon Deacons will play the Cardinals Friday at 7 p.m. and the Fighting Irish Sunday at 1 p.m.
• After playing 17-straight unranked opponents to start the season, the Deacons will play their second match in a row against a top-25 ranked foe Friday when they take on No. 25 Louisville.
• Friday's match at Louisville will mark the first time Wake Forest has played outside of the state of North Carolina since taking on New Hampshire in Chicago, Ill. Aug. 29, a span of 15 matches.
Last Time Out
• Last weekend, the Deacons dropped a 3-1 decision to Miami on Friday before being swept by No. 18 Florida State on Sunday.
• On the weekend, Matalee Reed led Wake Forest offensively by tallying 27 kills on a .270 hitting percentage. She had 3.86 kills per set.
• Defensively, Caroline Wolf notched 16 digs, while Katie Moore led the way with seven blocks. Kylie Long posted 15 kills and 11 digs against Miami to record her eighth double-double of 2015.
Atop the Conference
• Caroline Wolf enters the week with the second-most digs in the conference at 303. She is sixth in the ACC with a 4.46 digs-per-set average.
• Wolf, a sophomore, has 826 digs in her career, the 16th-best total in program history.
• Hanna Lee is fourth in the ACC in service aces with 26 and in aces per set at 0.39. Kylie Long is third in the league with 243 kills, 14 fewer than the conference-leading total of Boston College's Katty Workman.
Scouting Louisville
• Louisville jumped into the national rankings at No. 25 this week after starting off 6-0 in ACC play and 12-4 overall. The Cardinals have held opponents to a league-best .155 hitting percentage and have Katie George, who boasts the conference's best assists-per-set mark of 11.68. Erin Fairs is one of four players in the ACC with four kills per set or more and Tess Clark's hitting percentage is the second-best in the conference at .424. Outside hitter Aniah Philo is also the league's freshman of the week.
Scouting Notre Dame
• Notre Dame, which hosts Duke Friday, goes into the weekend with a 6-12 record, including a 1-5 ledger in ACC play. The Fighting Irish are third in the conference with 102 total service aces, 1.48 per set. Maddie Dilfer is eighth in the league with 8.42 assists per set. Sam Fry leads UND's offense with 210 kills at a clip of 3.04 kills per set.
Next On the Docket
• Wake Forest will have its longest homestand of the ACC season when it hosts Virginia Tech on Oct. 23, Pittsburgh on Oct. 24 and Duke on Oct. 28.
