The Match-Up
• Wake Forest wraps up its toughest stretch of the season, with five top-10 opponents in a six-game span. No. 9 Notre Dame is the last of Wake Forest's ranked foes.
• The Demon Deacons then close the season with three straight contests against unranked teams in Boston College, Syracuse and Louisville.
Last Time Out
• Wake Forest conceded an early goal, falling to No. 3 Virginia, 1-0. The loss was Wake Forest's seventh by a one-goal margin this season.
• Peyton Perea took a career-high six shots, putting two of them on target as she played the full 90 minutes. Nonie Frishette saved four of the five shots on goal she faced.
• Wake Forest played Virginia four goals better than a season ago, when the Cavaliers won 5-0 in Charlottesville.
Scouting The Opponent
• Notre Dame enters with a 10-3-1 record, 3-3 in the ACC. The Fighting Irish are ranked eighth by TopDrawerSoccer, ninth by Soccer America, and 14th by the NSCAA.
• After dropping back-to-back games to Florida State and Miami, Notre Dame has rebounded to beat Syracuse and Boston College, 1-0 and 2-0.
• The Fighting Irish have conceded more than one goal in a game just once this season, a Sept. 4 tie against Western Michigan.
• Anna Gilbertson and Natalie Jacobs lead the Notre Dame attack, as each is in double digits in points; Gilbertson has 16 (7g, 2a) and Jacobs has 13 (4g, 5a). Kaela Little (5-3, .810 save pct, 0.45 GAA) and Lexi Nicholas (5-0-1, .250 save pct, 0.51 GAA) have split time in goal, combining for eight shutouts.
Series History
• Wake Forest is still in search of its first victory over Notre Dame, trailing in the all-time series, 4-0-1.
• Since Notre Dame joined the ACC in 2013, the Fighting Irish have a 1-0-1 advantage, tying 1-1 in 2013 and winning 1-0 in 2014.
• The teams also met in the 2012 NCAA Tournament, with No. 4 Notre Dame claiming a 2-1 victory in the second round.
Fountain of Youth
• Wake Forest had an extremely young team a year ago, starting at least seven underclassmen and at least four freshmen in every game.
• That hasn't changed in 2015. At least eight underclassmen have started in every game but one, with three or more freshmen starting in every game but one.
• Eight different freshmen have started at least one game this season.
• Wake Forest has started more than one senior in a game once this season; in seven games, there have been zero senior starters.
