Deacs Post Fantastic Day at ITA Regionals

CARY, N.C. – Wake Forest men's tennis posted a perfect day in singles action at the ITA Carolina Regionals in going 4-0 to advance four players to the Round of 16 on Sunday while going 7-1 in doubles action to cap a stellar day at the Cary Tennis Park.
Three seeded players – Jon Ho, Christian Seraphim and Skander Mansouri – picked up straight-set victories while Keivon Tabrizi battled back from a first-set loss to move to the Round of 16. On the day, No. 3-seed Ho topped Christian Harris of Clemson 6-3, 6-1 while No. 6-seeded Mansouri beat Coastal Carolina's Sebastian Schneider 7-6 (3), 6-3. No. 11-seeded Seraphim advanced by beating Kasey Countee of East Carolina 6-4, 6-2 and Tabrizi beat UNCW's Christian Van der Burgh 5-7, 6-2, 6-1.
With doubles action underway in the tournament, each of the four pairings won at least one match while three of the duos advanced into the Round of 16. No. 1-seed Seraphim and Mansouri earned a bye into the second round and topped Wood Benton and Andrew Schafer of South Carolina 6-2, 6-2 while No. 8-seed Romain Bogaerts and Maksim Kan earned a 6-4, 6-3 win over Josh Levine and DJ McCall of Duke and a 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (7) win over Nikita Zverkov and Prostakov Zverkov of Gardner-Webb. No. 5-8-seed Ho and Tabrizi earned a 6-0, 6-1 win over Stefan Jakubov and Franchesco Migliano of Coastal Carolina and topped Matt Browne and Ben Horst of Furman by the score of 6-3, 6-4 to advance. The duo of Anthony Delcore and Sam Bloom topped Reid Dillon and Thomas Panouulas of UNC Asheville 7-5, 6-3 before falling to Pedro Meme and Rick Timmerman of Coastal Carolina by the score of 6-2, 7-5.
Wake Forest returns to action on Sunday with two singles rounds and the next doubles round on the docket.
