Wake Forest Plays Host to Virginia Tech, Pitt
Wake Forest will play host to ACC opponents Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh this weekend at Reynolds Gymnasium.
The Demon Deacons will play the Hokies Friday at 6 p.m. and will finish the weekend with a 6:30 contest against the Panthers.
Last Time Out
Last week, Wake Forest played outside the state of North Carolina for the first time since August. The Demon Deacons dropped a three-set match at No. 25 Louisville before snapping a five-match losing streak with a 3-1 victory at Notre Dame.
The win over the Fighting Irish was the Deacs' third in a row in the schools' all-time series and marked their first ACC road triumph of 2015.
Wolf's Big Week
Caroline Wolf was named the ACC Co-Player of the Week last week.
Her 42 digs against Notre Dame were the second-most in a four-set match in ACC volleyball history, as well as the most in the NCAA in a four-set match in 2015--it was the third-highest total nationally in any match this season.
Wolf enters the week with the most digs in the conference at 356. She is third in the ACC with a 4.75 digs-per-set average.
The sophomore from Naperville, Ill. has 879 digs in her career, the 15th-best total in program history.
Atop the ACC
Hanna Lee is fourth in the ACC in service aces with 28 and in aces per set at 0.38.
Kylie Long enters the week tied for fourth in the league with 271 kills.
Scouting Virginia Tech
Virginia Tech enters the weekend with a 13-7 overall record on the year with a 4-4 ACC mark. The Hokies have alternated wins and losses for their last six matches, topping Clemson before falling to Georgia Tech last week.
The Hokies boast the fourth-best hitting percentage in the league at .248, led by Ashley Battle's .324 clip, the 10th-best in the conference.
Scouting Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh, which plays at Duke Friday, is 6-2 in the ACC and has won 16 of 20 matches overall. The Panthers have won four matches in a row.
The Panthers have the league's second-best kills-per-set average at 14.36. Senior Amanda Orchard owns the second-best hitting percentage in the league at .434, while Jenna Potts is eighth at .340.
Next on the Docket
Wake Forest will cap its longest homestand of the ACC season Wednesday evening against Duke before heading to Virginia Friday night.
