WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest senior Katie Dry and sophomore Maddie Huster were voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Soccer Second Team.
The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
To be eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-District team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.3 GPA while being a meaningful contributor on the field in at least her second year at the school.
Dry, a psychology major with a 3.63 GPA, earned the nod at a defender spot. The senior has played all over the field, recording two goals and an assist in 11 games this season, also battling through a hamstring injury.
Huster was the only sophomore on either the First or Second Team in District 3, which encompasses schools in North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. A health and exercise science major with a 3.83 GPA, Huster has started every game and tallied a goal and two assists.
They become the first Demon Deacons to receive the honor since Aubrey Bledsoe did so in 2013.
