Mansouri Excels in First Davis Cup Action

CAIRO, Egypt – Skander Mansouri of the Wake Forest men's tennis team posted a perfect 4-0 record in Group III action at the Davis Cup this week to help Tunisia advance to the Europe/Africa Zone of Group II in 2016.
Overall, Tunisia went 3-0 against Algeria, Namibia and Benin without losing a single match. Mansouri played both singles and doubles against Algeria while only playing doubles against Namibia and singles against Benin.
Against Algeria, Mansouri topped Youcef Ghezal 6-2, 6-0 and topped Mohamed Hassan and Aymen Ikhlef in doubles 6-1, 6-2 while partnering with Aziz Dougaz. Playing doubles against Namibia, Mansouri and Majed Kilani downed Jacobus Serdyn and Gideon Van Dyk 6-0, 6-2. In the final match, Mansouri topped Jean Segodo of Benin 6-2, 6-0 to put Tunisia into next year's Group II action.
Mansouri will rejoin Wake Forest next weekend from Nov. 6-8 when the Deacs host the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem.
