Riviera/ITA All-American Championships Draws

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. -- The Wake Forest women's tennis team opened competition in the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships on Saturday with Kimmy Guerin competing in pre-qualifying singles action.
With the first two rounds of the tournament on the docket for the day, Guerin, the No. 4-seed in the draw, posted a first-round win over Marta Morgan of Memphis with a 6-2, 6-2 scoreline. In the second round, Guerin picked up a win in the first set against Illinois' Alexis Casati, but couldn't keep the momentum going as she ultimately fell 4-6, 6-0, 6-4.
In pre-qualifying doubles action, Guerin and Kasey Gardiner are scheduled to play their first match on Sunday. The No. 4-seed in the draw, Guerin and Gardiner earned a bye through to the second round and will take on Petra Horakova and Caitlin Herb of Louisiana-Monroe. The ULM duo won its first-round matchup on Saturday by the score of 8-7 (6).
The Deacs will continue the tournament on Sunday at 10 a.m. PT with doubles action.
