Deacs Struggle in Main Draws at ITA All-Americans

TULSA, Okla. -- On the first day of main-draw action at the Saint Francis Health Systems ITA All-American Championships Thursday, Wake Forest men's tennis struggled while going 0-4 on the day in singles and doubles.
After winning his way through pre-qualifying and qualifying singles, Christian Seraphim's run ended against No. 9-16-seed Austin Smith of Georgia in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5. Also in singles action, Romain Bogaerts, the No. 5-seed in the tournament, dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision to Diogo Rocha of Denver.
In doubles action, top-seeded Smith and Ben Wagland of Georgia got the best of Keivon Tabrizi and Jon Ho 6-2, 6-1. Fourth-seeded Seraphim and Skander Mansouri also dropped a 7-5, 6-4 decision against Herkko Pollanan and Mikael Torpegaard of Ohio State.
Wake Forest will continue action in the consolation draws on Friday at the University of Tulsa.
