ORLANDO, Fla. – Former Wake Forest goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe was selected by the Orlando Pride with the 10th pick of the National Women's Soccer League expansion draft on Monday.
Bledsoe is currently on loan with Fortuna Hjorring, a UEFA Women's Cup squad in Denmark, where she has helped the team to a 4-0-1 record with four shutouts as the starting keeper.
She spent the last NWSL season with Sky Blue FC, playing in one game off the bench. Now, she'll join Orlando, including Alex Morgan, Kaylyn Kyle and Sarah Hagen, for its inaugural season in 2016.
At Wake Forest, Bledsoe set all-time records in shutouts (33), goals-against average (0.91), games played and started (94), and minutes played in goal (8,692), twice earning All-America honors.
