WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Several former Demon Deacons have taken their careers to the next level to the NFL and are currently on active rosters. We take a look at what each former Deac did around the NFL over the weekend.
FB Tommy Bohanon, New York Jets
Bohanon played eight offensive snaps in the Jets' overtime win over the Giants. The third-year veteran has played in all 12 games for the Jets, who at 7-5, are currently on the edge for a playoff berth.
DB Josh Bush, Denver Broncos
After re-signing with the Broncos on Wednesday, Bush saw significant action in a 17-3 victory over the Chargers. The fourth-year player made four tackles and forced a Malcolm Floyd fumble in the second half. It was the first fumble Bush had forced since 2013, and the four tackles were a career-high. Bush could start in Sunday's game against Oakland for the 10-2 Broncos.
WR Michael Campanaro, Baltimore Ravens
Campanaro scored his first touchdown of the season on Oct. 1, but the second-year pro later suffered a herniated disc, and has been placed on season-ending Injured Reserve. "I know I belong on the field when I'm out there. It's definitely motivation going into next year for myself. Right now, my focus is on getting healthy and supporting the guys," Campanaro said.
WR Chris Givens, Baltimore Ravens
Givens started his third game of the season since joining Baltimore and recorded his most productive day of the season. He hauled in three catches for a season-high 68 yards in a 15-13 loss to the dolphins. Givens is listed as a starting wideout on the Ravens' depth chart.
LB Justin Jackson, Dallas Cowboys
After signing with the Cowboys in June, Jackson tore his ACL in practice in early August. He will miss the 2015 season.
DB Kevin Johnson, Houston Texans
Johnson started his eighth game of the year - sixth straight - but the Texans had a four-game winning streak snapped by the Bills. Johnson recorded three tackles and a pass breakup, his ninth of the season. The Texans are tied for the AFC South lead with Indianapolis at 6-6.
OL Joe Looney, Tennessee Titans
Looney did not play in the Titans' 42-39 victory over the Jaguars. The fourth-year pro is currently listed as the second-string center and right guard on the depth chart.
DB Merrill Noel, Buffalo Bills
After being released by the team on September 4, Noel was signed to the Bills practice squad.
LB Calvin Pace, New York Jets
Pace started and recorded a tackle in an overtime victory over the rival Giants. After the game, Pace said, "I'm proud, man. That was a win that, organizationally, we needed, to show that: Hey, you can be down and come back and win."
LB Zach Thompson, Baltimore Ravens
After seeing action in all four preseason games for the Ravens and recording a tackle in the final preseason contest against the Atlanta Falcons, Thompson was placed on Injured Reserve.
FB Nikita Whitlock, New York Giants
Whitlock started his fifth game of the season, and fourth of the past six weeks, in an overtime loss to the Jets, despite missing practie time during the week. Whitlock and the Giants are tied for first in the NFC East, and will be featured against the Dolphins on Monday Night Football on Dec. 14.
LB Kyle Wilber, Dallas Cowboys
Wilber had a solo tackle in a 19-16 victory over Washington that kept the Cowboys' playoff hopes alive. Dallas now ranks a game out of first place in the NFC East. Wilber is four tackles away from 100 in his NFL career.
