Wake Forest Falls at No. 4 Notre Dame 92-63

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Wake Forest battled with No. 4 Notre Dame on Sunday, falling to the Fighting Irish 92-63.
Dearica Hamby led Wake Forest (10-13, 1-8 ACC) with 23 points and 10 rebounds. She scored 20 points for the 12th time this season and recorded her ACC-leading 13th double-double. Milan Quinn set a career high in points scored for the second-straight game. She followed up her career-best nine points against Clemson on Thursday with 14 points at Notre Dame (21-2, 8-1 ACC).
Hamby scored two-straight baskets and Kelila Atkinson hit a jumper to give Wake Forest a 9-6 lead with just three minutes off the clock. A 6-0 run for the Fighting Irish gave Notre Dame back the lead, 12-11, but Wake Forest kept the game close. Mykia Jones found Hamby in the paint for a layup that kept Wake Forest within one, 23-22, with 8:49 to play in the first half. Notre Dame used a 14-0 burst that took more than four and a half minutes off the clock to open up 37-22 lead.
Taya Reimer hit a jumper to give Notre Dame a 20-point advantage, 47-27, with just under a minute remaining in the half. Hamby finished the half with a three-point play and Wake Forest went to the locker room trailing Notre Dame 47-30.
Wake Forest cut the lead down to 10 points after Quinn stepped up and knocked down two shots from the free-throw line. The Demon Deacons trailed 63-53 with 10:39 remaining in the contest. Notre Dame put the game away with a 13-0 run over the next four minutes that staked the Fighting Irish to a 76-53 lead with 6:29 remaining in the game. Notre Dame went on to win the game 92-63.
Amber Campbell and Millesa Calicott each scored nine points and Atkinson added six points in just 11 minutes due to foul trouble.
NOTES:
Milan Quinn set a career high in points scored for the second-straight game. She followed up her career-best nine points against Clemson on Thursday with 14 points at Notre Dame.
Dearica Hamby finished with her ACC-leading 13th double-double of the season.
Dearica Hamby also scored in double figures for her 11th-straight game and scored 20 points for the 12th time this season.

Wake Forest returns to the LJVM Coliseum for the second meeting of the season with No. 17/16 Duke.
Earlier this season Wake Forest lost at then-No. 10 Duke, 70-63, in the first ACC game of the season.
The Blue Devils have a commanding 59-18 edge in the all-time series.
Duke has won 41-straight games in the series with the last Demon Deacon win coming in the ACC Tournament on March 5, 1993.
