Reed and Rusk Earn All-ACC Academic Team Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Matalee Reed and Ashlee Rusk have been named to the 2014 All-ACC Academic Volleyball Team as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference office on Wednesday morning.
Reed earns her second-career honor in her second season with the Demon Deacons. In her junior season, she recorded 294 kills, a team-high 105 total blocks, and 28 service aces while starting in all 32 matches at the middle blocker position. A communication major, Reed hails from Dallas, Texas.
Rusk earns her first-career All-ACC Academic Team selection as a senior. The Liberty, Texas native made 24 starts and appeared in all 32 matches for the Demon Deacons during her final season. Rusk finished second on the team with 86 total blocks, while adding 174 kills and 49 digs.
Thirteen of the ACC's schools are represented on this year's All-ACC Academic Team with Miami senior outside hitter Savanah Leaf earning Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors.
To be eligible for consideration, each student-athlete must post at least a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester in addition to maintaining a cumulative 3.0 GPA over their entire academic career.
