RALEIGH, N.C. - Wake Forest dropped a 71-55 contest at NC State in Sunday in ACC play. Senior Dearica Hamby recorded her 15th double-double of the season with 23 points and 13 rebounds in the game.

Hamby finished with 23 points, 13 rebounds and two steals in the game. Kelila Atkinson chipped in 18 points and five assists.

Wake Forest dropped to 10-15 overall and 1-10 in ACC play. North Carolina State improved to 13-10 overall and 4-6 in league games.

Ashley Williams caught fire for the Wolfpack in the first half and knocked down six three pointers on her way to 20 points in the opening 20 minutes. Williams' fifth trey gave NC State a 28-19 lead with 5:39 left in the first half. A Hamby layup and an Atkinson three-pointer pulled Wake Forest back within six, 28-24, with just under four minutes to play.

The Demon Deacon run was halted by Williams final three pointer of the half. Hamby responded with two more layups to keep it close, 33-28, with 2:15 on the clock. NC State pushed the lead to 37-28 just before halftime and took the nine-point lead in to the break.

Wake Forest cut the lead to seven on a Milan Quinn layup with 17:44 to play in the game to make it a 39-32 game. The Wolfpack answered with a 6-0 run to open up a double figure lead they would never relinquish. NC State went on to win the game 71-55.

NOTES:
Dearica Hamby moved in to fifth place on Wake Forest's all-time scoring list in the game. She now has 1,637 career points, passing Tracy Connor who scored 1,619 points from 1993-97. Chelsea Douglas is ahead of Hamby in fourth place with 1,656 points from 2010-14.
Dearica Hamby turned in her 15th double-double of the season with 23 points and 13 rebounds. She has a double-doubles in eight of the last nine games.
Kelila Atkinson chipped in 18 points. She has scored in double figures in five of the last seven games.
