Fairchild put together one of the best rookie campaigns in Wake Forest history. All-time among freshmen, he ranks tied for fourth in hits (68) and stolen bases (12), ninth in doubles (14), and 10th in batting average (.349).

He was also recognized by the ACC as a First Team All-ACC pick and a member of the ACC All-Freshman Team.

Fairchild was one of six honorees from the ACC, with Louisville's Brendan McKay being named the Freshman of the Year.

This summer, Fairchild is competing with the Baltimore Redbirds in the Cal Ripken League. Through 15 games, he's hitting .291 with a homer and five stolen bases.
