WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest head men's soccer coach Bobby Muuss has announced the addition of Will Mack to finalize his staff for the upcoming 2015 season.
"I am extremely excited about the addition of Will to the Wake Forest soccer staff," said Muuss. "After spending time getting to know Will, his goals and ambitions line up perfectly with those of the program. He is a young coach with great character. Will is a tremendously hard worker and wants to excel at everything he does."
Mack joins the Wake Forest staff from local youth soccer clubs in Twin City Youth Soccer Association and NC Fusion. He is currently the head coach of the NC Fusion U-14 Development Academy. In addition to his coaching responsibilities with the Wake Forest men's soccer program, Mack will continue to be full-time staff member with local club teams Twin City and NC Fusion.
"I am very honored and humbled to have the opportunity to join the Wake Forest family and the legacy of the men's soccer program," said Mack. "I want to thank Bobby Muuss for giving me this great opportunity and look forward to working with him, the staff and players here at Wake Forest. I'm hopeful that my continued involvement with Twins and Fusion can bring the youth soccer and Wake soccer communities in the triad closer together."
Prior to his time with Twin City, Mack was the director of recreation at Greensboro United Soccer Association. He also spent time as an assistant coach with the Carolina Dynamo and the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association Olympic Development Program.
At the collegiate level, Mack was a two-year team captain and two-time Southern Conference tournament and regular season champion with the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG), helping the team make two NCAA Tournament appearances, including a run to the final 16 in 2008. He also played with a Carolina Dynamo team that won the 2011 South Atlantic Division.
With the addition of Mack, he will join Dane Brenner, Steve Armas, and Eder Quintanilla to complete the 2015 soccer staff. "I am true believer if you surround yourself with great people, great things will happen," said Muuss about the staff. "To be successful in any sport or business you need to have a great staff and I feel extremely fortunate to have a great soccer staff and support staff that I feel will all work well and complement each other greatly. More importantly I feel they all work extremely hard for our student athletes and put their best interest first in all they do.
The Wake Forest men's soccer program will now continue to prepare for the 2015 campaign under the new staff put together by Muuss. Heading into his first season, the head coach is confident about the people that he will have working with the program. "The college soccer season is a crazy four and a half months and I am lucky to have my staff and our awesome support staff of Michael White, Ethan Reeve, Josh Gresh, Brooke Taylor, and Kathleen Hurley." said Muuss.
