LYNCHBURG, Va. - Wake Forest outfielder Stuart Fairchild picked up his second Freshman All-American honors, as he was selected to the First Team by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
Fairchild put together one of the best rookie campaigns in Wake Forest history. All-time among freshmen, he ranks tied for fourth in hits (68) and stolen bases (12), ninth in doubles (14), and 10th in batting average (.349).
He was one of three outfielders selected to the First Team, along with Clemson's Reed Rohlman and UC Irvine's Keston Hiura.
Last week, Fairchild was tabbed as a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American, and he was also a First Team All-ACC pick and member of the ACC All-Freshman Team.
The ACC led all conferences with four players selected to the First Team by the NCBWA.
