SKILLMAN, N.J. – With the release of the preseason Oracle/ITA rankings on Tuesday, Kimmy Guerin of the Wake Forest women's tennis team found herself nationally ranked to open the season.
Following up a campaign in which she went 23-14 overall with a 15-10 dual-match record, Guerin checks in at No. 84 in the country after finishing the 2014-15 season ranked No. 118 in the ITA rankings.
Guerin led the Demon Deacons with 23 singles wins and 21 doubles wins. She was the only player to hit the 20-win mark on the team in doubles action while being joined by Sam Asch and Karen Forman in the 20-plus win club in singles. To go with the ranking, Guerin earned a spot on the singles qualifying tournament alternate list. She also earned a spot on the pre-qualifying doubles list with Kasey Gardiner.
After a successful first tournament of the fall season at the Elon Invitational last weekend, Wake Forest heads for New England to take part in the Harvard Invitational from Sept. 18-20.
