WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- After getting a spot in the main draw of the Cary Challenger on Tuesday, Keivon Tabrizi of the Wake Forest men's tennis team dropped his first-round match to end his run in the tournament at the Cary Tennis Park.
Tabrizi, who earned a lucky loser spot after falling in the final round of qualifying, was topped by American Dennis Novikov, the No. 7-seed in the tournament, on Tuesday afternoon by the score of 6-2, 6-2.
This weekend, Wake Forest will send a total of eight players to three different tournaments this coming weekend from Sept. 18-20. Romain Bogaerts is set to participate in the Oracle/ITA Masters in Malibu, California, while a handful of players will compete in the Duke Fab Four Invitational in Durham, North Carolina, and in the UVa Ranked +1 in Charlottesville, Virginia.
