Kan Advances to Final to Lead Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Maksim Kan picked up two more victories today, reaching the finals in his flight at the Duke Bonk Invitational to lead Wake Forest in play across three fall tournaments.
The junior started out the day with a straight sets victory over VCU's Philip Mobius, by a score of 6-3, 6-0. Kan then advanced to the blue draw finals after No. 76 Marko Krikovic of Auburn retired during a third set tiebreaker. He will face No. 105 Robert Kelly of North Carolina tomorrow to win the flight.
In other action at the Fab Four Invitational, Sam Bloom advanced by a 6-3, 6-3 score over Adrian Chambdani of Duke before falling in the semifinals to No. 51 Brett Clark of North Carolina, 7-6(3), 6-4.
Romain Bogaerts, playing in the Oracle/ITA Masters in Malibu, California, fell in the consolation draw to No. 1 Axel Alvarez Llamas of Oklahoma, 7-5, 6-2.
With the Demon Deacons also in action at the UVA Ranked 1+1, Jon Ho advanced to the semifinals in the blue draw, but fell to the overall top seed No. 8 Thai-Son Kwiatkowsi from UVA, 7-6, 6-4. Playing in the consolation bracket of the orange draw, Skander Mansouri reached the finals after picking up wins over Jonathan Cornish and Jack Findel Hawkins. He will face No. 28 Andreas Bjerrehus of Virginia Tech tomorrow in the consolation final.
