The Match-Up
• Wake Forest is set to open the 2015 campaign against FCS opponent Elon at BB&T Field on 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3, on ESPN3.
• The game can also be heard on the Wake Forest Sports Network and online at WakeForestSports.com.

Wake Forest Storylines
• The Demon Deacons enter year two of the Dave Clawson era after he led Wake Forest to a 3-9 record a year ago.
• Wake Forest brought in its highest-rated recruiting class of all-time, and those newcomers will have an immediate impact. The Demon Deacons have nine true freshmen on the depth chart, in addition to 10 redshirt-freshmen.
• Quarterback John Wolford returns as the starter for his second season. He set several freshman passing records for Wake Forest a year ago and already has a full year of starting experience as a true sophomore.
• Wake Forest's six-member senior class is the smallest senior class in FBS, and marks the fewest seniors since 1944 when the U.S. was involved in World War II.
• During the preseason, a number of publications have mentioned Wake Forest's linebacker corps of Brandon Chubb, Marquel Lee and Hunter Williams as perhaps the best in the ACC. They combined for 35 starts and 270 tackles in 2014.
• Wake Forest will also debut new uniforms in 2015, putting a modern twist on the university's history.

The Opposition & Series History
• Wake Forest and Elon are each in year two of a new coaching staff, and are meeting for just the second time since 1940.
• The Demon Deacons lead the all-time series, 9-0-1, including a 35-7 victory in the last meeting in 2009.
• Elon wrapped up 2014 with a 1-11 mark in Rich Skrosky's first season as head coach. That included a victory over Charlotte, now an FBS program, and five losses to FCS top-25 programs.

On Deck
• Wake Forest heads into its first ACC game of the season, traveling to Syracuse on Sept. 12 at 12:30 p.m. for its road-opener. The game will air live on the ACC Network.
• The Demon Deacons will look to avenge a 2014 home loss, when Syracuse defeated the Demon Deacons 30-7 at BB&T Field.
