Wake Forest Opens Two-Game Homestand
• Following a swing that saw Wake Forest play five of its last six games away from home, the Demon Deacons return to LJVM Coliseum on Sunday afternoon for a 2 p.m. matchup against Syracuse.
• The Demon Deacons are home for each of their next two games, as Wake Forest welcomes North Carolina to town on Thursday, Jan. 21.
Sunday's Promotions
• All kids wearing youth sports team jerseys will receive free admission to LJVM Coliseum for the game.
• It's also another Sunday game, so get four tickets, four popcorns and four sodas for just $20 at the ticket office.
Last Time Out
• Wake Forest dropped its fourth-straight contest Thursday night and fifth in the last six games, falling to Miami 71-60 in Coral Gables, Florida.
• The Demon Deacons never trailed by more than 11 in the game and used an 8-0 run run at the start of the second half to tie the game at 37, but Miami withstood the rally and kept the Deacs at arm's length for the remainder of the game.
• Milan Quinn posted her fifth-career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Amber Campbell notched her fifth straight double-figure scoring night with 13 points.
Scouting the Orange
• A winner of seven of its last eight, Syracuse is 13-4 on the season and receiving votes in both national polls this week. The Orange have won each of the last two games by 21 and 23 points, respectively, against Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh.
• Syracuse's only four losses this year have come to No. 4 Tennessee, No. 5 Maryland, No. 24 Arizona State and North Carolina. The only home loss of the year is to the Sun Devils on Dec. 12.
• Alexis Peterson leds Syracuse with 14.1 points per game while Brianna Butler and Bria Day round out the double-figure scorers, as Butler is averaging 12.9 points per game and Day 11.2 ppg.
Series History
• Wake Forest and Syracuse did not meet prior to the Orange joining the ACC. The two teams have only met three times with Syracuse holding a 2-1 advantage.
• The Demon Deacons' lone win in the series came last season in the second round of the ACC Championship. In the contest, Dearica Hamby led the Deacs with 23 points, followed by Amber Campbell's 21, Kandice Ball's 14 and Millesa Calicott's 14. Alexis Peterson led all scorers in the game with 34 points for the Orange.
Bringing the Best
• Syracuse is one of four teams sitting with one loss in ACC play. The other three teams with one loss are NC State, Miami and Florida State.
• Wake Forest's first five ACC opponents have a combined 66-23 record overall and a 14-8 mark in ACC play.
Next Time Out
• The Demon Deacons stay at home on Thursday, Jan. 21, for a matchup against in-state rival North Carolina.
• The game, set for 7 p.m. inside LJVM Coliseum, will be aired on ESPN3.
• All-time, North Carolina leads the series 63-12 over Wake Forest. The Deacs' last win over the Tar Heels came on Jan. 26, 2004, at home in a 69-67 contest.
