DEACS OPEN ACC PLAY WITH TRIP TO LOUISVILLE
• Wake Forest plays at No. 18 Louisville in the ACC opener for both teams
• The Deacs are looking for their first true road win over a ranked opponent since an 82-69 win at No. 24 North Carolina in 2009-10
• Wake has won its ACC opener five of the last eight years, but hasn't won one on the road since 2006-07 (opened ACC play winning at Miami)
• It is Wake Forest's first trip to Louisville since the 1962 Final Four at Freedom Hall, where the Deacs fell to Ohio State in the semifinals before downing UCLA in the 3rd Place Game
SERIES HISTORY
• The Cardinals lead the series 3-1(first meeting in Louisville)
• Louisville won 85-76 last year in Winston-Salem in the first ACC meeting
• The first three games of the series were at neutral sites, including NCAA Tournament contests in 1992 (UL win) and 1996 (WF win)
ROAD WARRIORS
• Wake Forest is 5-1 away from home this season and has already more than doubled its road/neutral win total of last season (two)
• The Deacons' three true non-conference road wins led the ACC
• Wake Forest had five non-conference road/neutral wins for the first time since winning six in 2008-09 as the Deacs climbed to No. 1 in the nation
• The Deacons' current three-game win streak in true road games is their longest since 2009-10 and a win tonight would extend the streak to their longest since a five-game streak in 2008-09
WINNING THE CLOSE ONES
• Wake Forest is 7-0 this season in games decided by six points or less, defeating UMBC, Indiana, UCLA, Rutgers, Arkansas, Coastal Carolina and LSU after going 5-6 in those contests last season
• The Demon Deacons' nine wins this season have come by a total of 46 points, with the largest margin of victory coming by 10 points in the 81-71 win over UNC Greensboro on Dec. 15
• Wake Forest is the only team in the top 60 of the RPI to have all its wins this season be by 10 points or less
UP NEXT
