The Matchup
• Wake Forest returns home for three of its final four games at Spry Stadium. That stretch begins with a contest against No. 25-ranked Boston College on Saturday at 5 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
Wake Forest Storylines
• In search of just its third win against North Carolina all-time, Wake Forest jumped out to a 1-0 lead over the 10th-ranked Tar Heels behind a goal from Peyton Perea, assisted by Claudia Day. However, the Tar Heels responded with back-to-back goals, including the game-winner in the second half, to beat the Demon Deacons by a 2-1 margin.
• Three Demon Deacons have double-digit point totals: Maddie Huster (5 goals, 3 assists, 13 points), Bayley Feist (4g, 2 a, 10 pts) and Peyton Perea (5g, 10 pts). Caroline Wootten (1g, 3a, 5 pts), Jenna Romano (2g, 4 pts), Sarah Medina (1g, 2a, 4 pts) and Maddie Brock (1g, 2a, 4 pts) also have at least four points apiece.
• Wake Forest went unbeaten in non-conference play for just the second time in program history. The Deacs also accomplished the feat in 2013.
Senior Spotlight
• Instead of one big senior day this year, Wake Forest is honoring a senior at each of the final seven home games. The Deacs have already honored Taylor Kerxton, Jenna Romano, Maddie Brock and Kendal Robino.
• Sarah Teegarden will be recognized prior to Saturday's game. In her career, she has started all 71 games and recorded eight goals and five assists. She was on the ACC All-Freshman Team in 2013, and a preseason All-ACC pick this year.
Opponent and Series History
• Boston College enters the game with a 10-4-1 overall record, including a 2-4 mark in ACC play. The Eagles are receiving votes in the NSCAA poll, and ranked 25th nationally by Soccer America.
• Boston College has defeated ACC foes Florida State and Pittsburgh, falling to Duke, Louisville, Virginia Tech and NC State by one-goal margins.
• The Eagles are top 10 in scoring nationally, outscoring foes by a 36-15 margin. McKenzie Meehan leads the team with 10 goals, while Hayley Dowd (7g, 3a, 17 pts), Lauren Berman (4g, 6a, 14 pts) and Jenna Bike (3g, 5a, 11 pts) also have double-digit points. Alexis Bryant has made 13 starts in goal, holding an 8-3-1 record, 0.88 GAA and .744 save percentage.
• Boston College holds a 7-5 advantage in the all-time series, but Wake Forest has claimed three of the last five matchups. Last year, BC claimed a 2-1, double-overtime win on a Meehan penalty kick. Dowd scored in the 81st minute, followed by Kahla Seymour tallying the equalizer at the 82:00 mark.
Looking Ahead
• Wake Forest competes in two more home games, beginning with a game against Syracuse on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m.
