Wake Forest Sweeps Finals at ITA Carolina Regional

CARY, N.C. -- Wake Forest swept the finals of the ITA Carolina Regional on Tuesday, with Skander Mansouri claiming the singles title and also teaming with Christian Seraphim to win the doubles championship.
With the wins, three Deacs have locked up a spot in the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships in Flushing Meadows, New York, from Nov. 3-6. Petros Chrysochos already clinched a singles berth in that event with his performance at the ITA All-American Championships.
Mansouri defended his 2015 title in the event by winning all seven of his singles matches in straight sets. He capped his run by taking down South Carolina's No. 30-ranked Gabriel Friedrich, 6-4, 6-4.
He and Seraphim rebounded from dropping their first set in six doubles matches in the final to win in a 10-point tiebreak, beating No. 4 seeds Robert Kelly and Josh Peck of North Carolina, 7-6 (4), 3-6, 1-0 (10-4).
