Mansouri, Seraphim Reach Doubles Semis at National Indoor

FLUSHING, N.Y. – Wake Forest continued play at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships on Thursday, with the doubles pairing of Christian Seraphim and Skander Mansouri advancing into the semifinals.
The duo went into a back-and-forth battle in the third-set tiebreak, eventually defeating Columbia's Shawn Hadavi and Jackie Tang, 6-2, 0-6, 1-0 (15-13).
In singles play, both Mansouri and Petros Chrysochos earned a win in the round of 16 before falling in the quarterfinals in their second matches of the day.
Mansouri took down Texas A&M's ninth-ranked Arthur Rinderknech in straight sets before falling to sixth-seeded Nuno Borges of Mississippi State.
Chrysochos defeated Southern Cal's Brandon Holt, rated as a top-10 freshman by the ITA. In his quarterfinal match, he shut out No. 11 ranked Michael Redlicki of Arkansas in the opening set before falling, 0-6, 6-1, 7-5.
As the only tournament on the ITA calendar to showcase elite players from every level of college tennis, the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships serves as the culmination of the fall season. Hosted by Columbia University, this prestigious event features a 32-player singles draw and a 20-team doubles draw for men and women.
Other Deacons also began play at Georgia's Bulldog Scramble. Alan Gadjiev highlighted the day with a three-set win over Georgia Tech's No. 73-ranked Carlos Benito.
