
Wake Forest Falls to Louisville, 3-0

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to Louisville on Sunday afternoon at the Summit School.
Kylie Long led the Demon Deacons, recording 13 kills. She moved into eighth place in school history in career kills during the match.
The first set was close early before the Cardinals (8-16, 3-11 ACC) used a 7-2 run to take a 15-9 lead. The Demon Deacons (9-16, 5-9 ACC) rallied with a run of their own, paced by three kills by Katie Moore, to even the set at 17-17. The teams traded points to 21-21 before Louisville won the final four points to take the opening set 25-21.
Neither team led by more than a point early in the second set as it remained tied at 11-11. Louisville took control of the set with a 7-2 run to take an 18-13 lead and closed out the set at 25-17.
The final set was also tied 11-11 before the Demon Deacons went on a 4-0 run with Hanna Lee serving to take a 15-11 advantage. Wake Forest held that advantage at 19-15 before the Cardinals rallied to tie the set at 21-21. Louisville won four of the next six points to win the set 25-23 and complete the 3-0 victory.
The Demon Deacons return to action next week with a pair of road matches, visiting Pitt on Friday and Virginia Tech on Sunday.
