WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest outscored in-state foe Charlotte 27-8 over the course of the opening 10 minutes Tuesday as the Demon Deacons cruised to a 91-74 victory over the 49ers inside LJVM Coliseum.

John Collins pushed his streak of consecutive games with a double-double to four in finishing with 22 points and 15 rebounds. In just 21 minutes of action, Collins fell two points shy of matching his career high in points and one board shy of equaling his best rebounding game.

Three other players for Wake Forest (7-2) scored in double figures against Charlotte (6-3), as Bryant Crawford, Konstantinos Mitoglou and Keyshawn Woods helped Collins lead the Deacs to the 17-point victory Tuesday evening.

After the 49ers evened the score at 5-all early in the first half, Wake Forest put the game out of reach with a 17-0 run over the ensuing 5:14 to build a 22-5 lead it would not relinquish. The run was kick started by dunks on three consecutive trips down the court with two by Collins and one by Crawford.
