WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Three Wake Forest football players have been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Football Team as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
Safety Ryan Janvion, linebacker Hunter Williams and quarterback John Wolford earned the recognition.
Janvion was honored on the All-Academic team for the third consecutive season while Williams and Wolford are both repeat selections.
Janvion played in 11 games last fall and finished second on the team with 72 tackles. Williams was fifth on the team with 60 tackles and was second on the club with 7.5 tackles for loss. Wolford started 10 of 12 games in 2015 and led the team with 1,791 yards passing and nine touchdown passes.
To be eligible for consideration for the team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his undergraduate academic career. Graduate students needed to maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average for both the previous semester and for their graduate school careers.
All 14 ACC schools were represented on the team. The ACC has selected an All-ACC Academic Football team every year since 1954.
The team was chosen from a pool of 140 ACC football student-athletes who were nominated by their schools.
