Deacs Aim to Tie Program-Record ACC Win Streak
Wake Forest will look to tie the program record for the longest ACC winning streak on Thursday night when it hosts No. 2 Notre Dame.
First tip between the Deacs and Irish is set for 7 p.m. inside LJVM Coliseum.
Currently on a four-game winning streak, the Demon Deacons have won a program-best five ACC games in a row on one previous occasion from a Jan. 12 to Jan. 27 during the 1987-88 season, when head coach Jen Hoover was a freshman with the Deacs.
Last Time Out
Wake Forest took down Duke on Sunday for the first time since March 5, 1993, by topping the Blue Devils 64-58. The win snapped a 45-game losing streak against the neighbors from Durham.
Amber Campbell led Wake Forest with a career-high 27 points while Elisa Penna notched her second-career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Ariel Stephenson also chipped in 11 points in the victory.
History In The Making
With the win over Duke, Wake Forest has now beat Duke, North Carolina and NC State in the same season for just the second time in program history. The first occurrence came during the 1987-88 season.
Wake Forest is 4-0 to start February for the third time in program history, joining the 2008-09 and 1985-86 teams. The Demon Deacons have never opened the month of February with five-consecutive victories.
Scouting The Fighting Irish
Notre Dame has won 17 games in a row since suffering its only loss of the season on Dec. 5, a road contest against No. 1 Connecticut.
In just their third season in the ACC, the Irish are in search of their third-straight ACC regular season title. All-time in ACC play, the Irish are 49-1, including ACC Tournament play. The lone loss came last season vs. Miami.
Brianna Turner leads the Irish with 13.9 points per game, but she's followed closely by Madison Cable at 13.7, Arike Ogunbowale at 11.8 and Marina Mabrey at 11.4. Two more players for Notre Dame average more than 8.2 points per contest.

In three matchups all-time with the Irish, Wake Forest has never topped Notre Dame.
Across those three meetings, Wake Forest has lost by an average of more than 25 points per game.
All-time against teams in the top five, Wake Forest is 0-52. Thursday's matchup against Notre Dame marks the first top-five opponent for the Deacs since traveling to then-No. 4 Notre Dame on Feb. 1 last season, falling 92-63 in that contest against the Irish.

Wake Forest closes out a three-game homestand and the 2015-16 home slate on Thursday, Feb. 25, against Virginia Tech on Senior Night.
