LOS CABOS, Mexico – The Wake Forest men's golf team continued play Monday at the Querencia Cabo Collegiate with second round play at Los Cabos Querencia. The Deacons shot a 6-over round of 290 and are tied for 12th place at 16-over after 36 holes.
"We hit too many balls in the desert today," said head coach Jerry Haas. "It wasn't horrible, but you just can't miss off the tee or with irons on this course. We lost Will (Zalatoris) today with an injury, but the others played hard. Hopefully we will have Will back in a couple of weeks."
Senior Davis Womble led the Deacs on Monday with a 2-under round of 69. He sits in 25th on the individual leaderboard at 1-over for the tournament. Lee Detmer also shot under par on Tuesday, posting a second-round 70. He is T-45th for the tournament at 5-over.
Paul McBride is T-39th at the event after shooting a second round 76, placing him at 4-over. Cameron Young is T-67th at 11-over after a round of 75 on Tuesday. Will Zalatoris withdrew from the tournament with an injury suffered during Monday's play.
The Deacons will conclude action at the tournament, which features nine top-30 teams, on Tuesday.
