Reed, Wolf Named to 2015 All-ACC Academic Volleyball Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Wake Forest volleyball senior Matalee Reed and sophomore Caroline Wolf were named to the 2015 All-ACC Academic Volleyball Team as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference office on Monday.
Reed earned her third-career honor in as many seasons with the Demon Deacons. She joined Clemson's Leah Perri as the only two three-time honorees on the list, which included 31 student-athletes.
In her final collegiate season, Reed registered a career-high 332 kills to end her Deacon career with 863, the 16th-most in program history. She also put up 69 total blocks to up her career total to 240, the 14th-most by a Demon Deacon. In addition, she was second on the team and tied for sixth in the ACC with 33 service aces and had 92 in her time at Wake Forest, slotting her eighth on the school's all-time list. Reed was named to the Rambler Challenge and Deacon Classic all-tournament teams and had career-best 20-kill showings against New Hampshire and Virginia.
A communication major, Reed hails from Dallas, Texas.
Wolf garnered her first All-ACC Academic Team selection as a sophomore. The Naperville, Ill. native broke Wake Forest's single-season record for digs with 551 and is now seventh on the school's career digs list with 1,074 after just two seasons. In 2015, she earned Elon Phoenix Classic and Deacon Classic all-tournament team honors and was named the ACC Co-Player of the Week on Oct. 19 after racking up a career-best 42 digs at Notre Dame. That total was the second-most in a four-set match in ACC volleyball history, as well as the most in the NCAA in a four-set match in 2015.
Wolf is undecided on a major.
All 15 ACC schools are represented on this year's all-conference academic team with Louisville senior setter Katie George earning ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season were also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
