Deacs Continue Homestand, Open ACC Play
• After a 12-3 start, No. 7-ranked Wake Forest continues a season-long, 12-match homestand this weekend with matches against No. 34 Georgia Tech, No. 40 NC State and Tennessee Tech at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
• The Deacons play the Yellow Jackets on Friday at 4 p.m. and will have a doubleheader on Sunday, taking on the Wolfpack at 1 p.m. and the Golden Eagles at 5 p.m.
• Friday's contest against Georgia Tech will be the teams' ACC opener.
Last Time Out
• Last week, the Demon Deacons suffered their first home loss in almost a full calendar year in a down-to-the-wire, 4-3 decision to No. 26 Texas on Saturday. The Deacs bounced back on Sunday with a shutout of No. 6 Texas Tech and two wins over Norfolk State.
• The match against the Red Raiders was the first top-10 showdown in Winston-Salem since 2007.
• To get the victory over Texas Tech, Wake Forest downed a pair of ranked doubles tandems, including a 6-4 victory by Skander Mansouri and Christian Seraphim over No. 2 Hugo Dojas and Felipe Soares. After a quick, straight-set win by Dennis Uspensky, Mansouri and Petros Chrysochos cruised to first set wins and combined to win their last 11 second-set games to complete comeback victories and make it a 4-0 final.
Deacs in the Top 10
• After a strong start to the season, the Deacons moved in to the top 10 of the national rankings for the first time since 2007. Their No. 5 ranking held in the previous two weeks was their highest in program history. They are now No. 7.
• Wake Forest began the season with its highest preseason ranking in program history at No. 11 after making its third Sweet 16 appearance a year ago.
Mansouri Earns ACC Honor
• Skander Mansouri won his second ACC Player of the Week honor this week. He won the award for the first time in his career on Feb. 2.
• Last week, Mansouri went 3-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles with a win over No. 18 Felipe Soares and two ranked doubles wins. He now 4-1 against ranked singles opponents on the spring and is 21-5 in singles overall.
Deacs in the Rankings
• In singles, Skander Mansouri leads a trio of nationally-ranked Deacons by checking in at No. 25. Petros Chrysochos and Romain Bogaerts are ranked No. 34 and No. 113, respectively. Combined, they are 29-6 on the spring with 11 wins over ranked foes.
• On the doubles side, Mansouri and Christian Seraphim rank No. 21, while Bogaerts and Maksim Kan are No. 28 in the nation. Bogaerts and Kan have not played together in the spring, but Mansouri and Seraphim have played at No. 1 in 13 of the team's matches, going 8-5 with five victories against ranked pairings.

• The Deacs continue their homestand next week with two more ACC matches against Boston College and Notre Dame. They will also play Morehead State.
• The March 13 match time against the Fighting Irish was moved from 1 p.m. to noon.
