Wake Forest Seeks ACC Regular-Season Title
• No. 7 Wake Forest concludes its regular season this week by traveling to top-ranked Virginia and Louisville. The Demon Deacons will play the Cavaliers on Friday at 3 p.m. and will take on the Cardinals on Sunday at noon.
• The winner of Friday's contest will earn the top seed in the ACC Tournament and will clinch at least a share of the conference regular-season title. Wake Forest is looking for its first conference championship, while Virginia is looking to win its 13th in a row.
Last Time Out
• Coming off wins road wins over No. 45 Virginia Tech and top-ranked North Carolina, Wake Forest earned a 6-1 victory over No. 60 Duke last Saturday in its final home match of the 2016 regular season. The triumph was their 12th in a row and was their school-record 25th of the season.
• Before playing the Blue Devils, the Deacons honored their five seniors: Romain Bogaerts, Jon Ho, Anthony Delcore Sam Bloom and Brendan Henry.
Strong Individual Showings
• Skander Mansouri has had a strong spring campaign, going 15-4 in singles, including 10-4 at No. 1, 4-0 at No. 2 and 8-3 against ranked opponents. The sophomore has won the ACC Player of the Week three times and is ranked 14th nationally.
• Paired with Christian Seraphim, Mansouri is also No. 14 in doubles. The duo is 13-7 at the No. 1 position with six wins against ranked tandems.
• Also ranked in singles for the Deacons is Petros Chrysochos, who checks in at No. 21 after an 18-2 start that includes a 15-0 mark at No. 2, and Romain Bogaerts, who stands at No. 122. Bogaerts and Maksim Kan have not played together in the spring, but are ranked 60th in doubles, while Chrysochos and Jon Ho are 76th.
• Since suffering a three-set loss at Virginia on Feb. 13, Seraphim has won 12-straight singles matches and now has 32 wins in 2015-16, tied for the fourth-most in a single season in program history. He is 20-2 in dual matches, including 10-0 in ACC play.
100-Win Club
• Seniors Jon Ho and Romain Bogaerts became the sixth and seventh players in program history, respectively, to reach 100-career wins in singles.
• Ho reached the milestone on March 20 against Clemson and has added victories over Miami and Duke since. Bogaerts reached the plateau on Senior Day last week against Duke, clinching the victory for the Deacs.
Deacs in the Top 10
• After a strong start to the season, the Deacons moved into the top 10 of the national rankings for the first time since 2007. Their No. 5 ranking held the weeks of Feb. 17 and Feb. 23 was the highest in program history. They are currently ranked seventh.
• Wake Forest began the season with its highest preseason ranking in program history at No. 11 after making its third Sweet 16 appearance a year ago.
Deacs at the Davis Cup
• Demon Deacon freshman Petros Chrysochos and sophomore Skander Mansouri both competed for their respective countries at the Davis Cup in mid-March.
• Representing Cyprus, Chrysochos went 4-0 in singles to help his country advance from Europe Zone Group III to Europe Zone Group II.
• Mansouri dropped his lone match for Tunisia, a five-set doubles contest.
