WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest volleyball interim head coach Lindsay Allman announced the addition of setter Bailey Shurbet for the 2016 season. Shurbet, a redshirt junior, comes to the Demon Deacons after spending three seasons at Kansas State. She is originally from San Antonio, Texas.
"Bailey will bring a new level of competitiveness and a wealth of experience into our gym that will continue to drive us towards the top of the ACC," said Allman. "We are excited to welcome her into our gym this July."
During Shurbet's time with Kansas State, the Wildcats went 45-31. After redshirting her freshman season in 2013, she made her collegiate debut against Missouri State in 2014, registering six assists and a pair of digs. She played in four matches during her time in Manhattan, posting 13 assists, four digs and a kill.
Prior to joining the Wildcats, Shurbet was a four-year volleyball letterwinner at Ronald Reagan High School and helped the Rattlesnakes win a district championship in her senior season. She was an academic all-district and served as the team's captain.
Listed at 5-foot-9, Shurbet also competed for Alamo Volleyball Association. She was AAU All-Tournament team selection two years in a row and served as a team captain. An alumnus of Alamo Volleyball Association, she earned all-district honorable mention for volleyball as a senior and qualified for the Junior Olympics.
She graduated in December of 2012 to enroll at Kansas State a semester early. Shurbet was also three-year letterwinner in track and field.
