WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Interim head coach Lindsay Allman and the Wake Forest volleyball program announced the team's 2016 schedule on Wednesday afternoon. The Demon Deacons are slated to play 31 matches in the regular season, including 17 at Reynolds Gymnasium.
The Deacons' season will begin on August 26 with a trip to Radford. The home schedule will kick off the following week with the Demon Deacon Classic on Sept. 2 and 3. Wake Forest will welcome Davidson, College of Charleston and Loyola to Winston-Salem.
Following a trip to Statesboro, Ga. for the SpringHill Suites Invitational, the Deacs will conclude their non-conference schedule with four home matches. After a midweek clash with Middle Tennessee State, the Demon Deacons will host Wofford, High Point and Charlotte at the Black and Gold Invitational.
ACC action starts with road matches against Duke on Sept. 21, Virginia on Sept. 23, Louisville on Sept. 30 and Notre Dame on Oct. 2. The Deacons will then play six-consecutive conference matches at home, starting on Oct. 7 against Virginia Tech.
After the season-long, six-match homestand, the Deacs will round out their schedule alternating home and road weekends. Their final four home tilts will be against Notre Dame, Louisville, Miami and Florida State.
Wake Forest's ACC schedule features at least one match against every team and includes two matches against Duke, Virginia, Louisville, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech.
